Time names Canadian Elon Musk “Person of the Year”

Elon Musk is an entrepreneur and business magnate. He is the founder, CEO and Chief Engineer at SpaceX He is an early-stage investor, CEO and Product Architect of Tesla. Musk is the founder of The Boring Company and co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI. With an estimated net worth of around US$270 billion as of December 2021 Musk is the richest person in the world. He is also Canadian (kind of).

Now he has graduated to Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.

Musk doesn’t own a home in Canada, likely because they are too expensive right now. In fact he doesn’t own a home anywhere.

Elon Musk and his Canuck mom Maye Musk who was born on April 19, 1948 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada,

When Elon Musk arrived in Canada he lived with his cousin in Saskatchewan for a year to work at a farm and lumber-mill. He moved to Canada and attend Queen’s University in Kingston and became a permanent resident. Musk got his Canadian citizenship in 1989. This is one of three citizenship’s he maintains including South Africa and the USA.

Today Time magazine named Musk “Person of the Year.” Time magazine says The richest man in the world has recently been selling off his fortune. Through his space company, SpaceX, he puts satellites into orbit and sends astronauts to the International Space Station. He drives a Tesla, a car he created that is completely electric and barely needs a driver. When he tweets the stock market soars or crashes and he has a devoted social following that waits for him to say anything. He wants to get humans to Mars and is amassing and hoarding an unprecedented amount of wealth to do it.

His company, SpaceX, has dominated all other Aerospace competitors in the short time it’s been around. Tesla now controls the dominant stake in the electric-vehicle market that it created through patents and manufacturing. Tesla is valued at $1 trillion USD dollars. With a net worth of more than $250 billion Musk has become the richest person in history.

Calling Musk Canadian is a bit of a stretch we know. Musk didn’t spend much time north of the American border. In fact he only spent two years living in Canada and switched schools to the University of Pennsylvania where to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in both Economics and Psychics. He did acknowledge his Canadian roots recently in a tweet.

“I arrived in North America at 17 w $2000, a backpack & a suitcase full of books. Within three weeks of getting my Canadian passport, I was in Canada”

Elon Musk, Canadian

While it was short-lived he has that passport and will always have the option of coming home to the most beautiful country on earth when it’s time to settle down and start fishing.
